Creators: how to read your follower losses
Updated: 26 October 2026
Short answer: You posted, then your count dropped, and you wonder if the post caused it. A tracker can tell you who left and when it spotted the departure, which you can compare with the time you posted. It cannot prove the cause: followers also leave for reasons that have nothing to do with a post, and Instagram sometimes removes accounts.
Start with who and when
Add your public account to Snytch. For each confirmed departure you get the name and the time it was spotted, about every 2 hours. A cluster right after a post tells you something. A slow drip tells you something else.
Separate real unfollows from the rest
A count can fall because people unfollowed, deleted or deactivated their accounts, or because Instagram removed fake or inactive ones. The tracker shows whether the missing name still exists on Instagram or has disappeared.
Do not over read it
Two events close in time are not a cause. Look at several posts before you conclude, and keep in mind that the spotted time is when the tracker noticed, not the exact second the person left.
FAQ
Can I see which post made people leave?
No. You can compare departure times with your posting times, but that shows a coincidence, not a cause.
Does it work for a business or creator account?
Yes, as long as the account is public.
Do I give my Instagram login?
No. Snytch reads public information only.
