How to see who your boyfriend or girlfriend followed on Instagram

Updated: 26 October 2026

Short answer: If your partner's account is public, you can open their Following list, but it has no dates, so you cannot see who they followed recently. A tracker saves the list and shows each new follow with the time it was spotted. Snytch does this without your Instagram login and never notifies the person. It sees public information only: a private account cannot be tracked.

What Instagram shows you

A long Following list with no dates and no reliable order. A follow from today looks like one from two years ago, and an unfollow just disappears.

What a tracker adds

It records a starting list and compares it at each check, about every 2 hours with Snytch. New follows and unfollows appear with the time they were spotted. It does not show messages, likes or anything private, and it cannot tell you what a follow means.

Before you start

A follow is rarely proof of anything. If you are looking because trust is shaky, the list will not fix that, and a direct conversation usually does more. Snytch's terms forbid using it to harass, stalk or harm anyone.

FAQ

Will my partner be notified?

No. Snytch only reads public information and sends no notification to the person.

Can I see their private account?

No. Nothing private is read.

Can I see who they followed before I started?

No. Tracking starts the day you add the account, because Instagram keeps no visible history.
