The Ick alternative: Snytch vs The Ick

Updated: 26 October 2026

Short answer: Snytch and The Ick both track public Instagram accounts without asking for your Instagram login. The differences are in what they track, how often they check, and how they price it. The Ick, at theick.io, tracks the follows of public accounts and shows a timeline. Snytch is built for people who want the follows, the unfollows and the one-way follows of an account, with an honest check about every 2 hours rather than a real time promise.

Where The Ick fits

According to its own site (checked 26 October 2026), The Ick needs no Instagram login, checks hourly, tracks up to 5 profiles and has a free download to try before subscribing. It is English only. If you want an hourly cadence and a free first look, it is worth a look.

Where Snytch fits

Snytch is a web app that follows who a public account follows and who follows it, confirms a departure on a second pass before alerting you (so a glitchy list does not create a fake unfollow), and shows who the account follows without being followed back. You can watch accounts together with friends in a squad. It says plainly that it checks about every 2 hours: it is frequent monitoring, not live.

How to choose

Pick the tool whose list of features matches what you actually need. If you want follows, unfollows and one-way follows on public accounts, with a clear price and no Instagram login, Snytch covers it. If you need a free first look or up to 5 profiles, check The Ick directly.

FAQ

Is Snytch a good The Ick alternative?

If you want to track follows and unfollows on public Instagram accounts without logging in, yes. If you need what only The Ick offers (a free first look or up to 5 profiles), it is not a replacement for that.

Does Snytch ask for my Instagram password?

No. Snytch only reads public information and never asks for your Instagram login.

Is Snytch real time?

No. It checks about every 2 hours on most accounts and says so. A change is confirmed on a second pass, so you usually learn it within a few hours.
