How to know if someone blocked you on Instagram

Short answer: Instagram never notifies you when someone blocks you, so you can only infer it. The usual sign is that their profile no longer shows up for you while it still exists for others. The catch: a deleted, deactivated or renamed account looks the same from your side, so be careful before concluding it was a block.

The signs people look for

Their profile no longer appears in search, opening their page shows no posts or says the user was not found, and your old likes, comments and follow disappear from view. Any one of these can have other causes.

Block, delete, deactivate or rename

From your side a block, a deleted account, a temporarily deactivated account and a username change can all look alike. Checking the account from a different, logged out browser or asking a friend to open it helps: if others still see it, it is likely a block.

What a tracker can and cannot say
